BERBERE is a spice blend, based on chilies and other spices, used in Ethioians 'wats' (stews).

BIBLE LEAF = COSTMARY.

BIJI SAWI (Malaysia) = Mustard Seed (Spices).

BIJOL = Annatto (Spices)

BLACHAN (Malaysia) = TRASI.

BLACK CARAWAY = usually Nigella Seed (Spices). Just for confusion, it may on occasion mean true "black cumin".

BLACK CARDAMOM = Cardamom, Black (Spices)

Black Cumin (Spices) = There is a variety of cumin known as "black cumin", which is grown in Kashmir, Pakistan, and Iran (the seeds are smaller and darker than regular cumin, although to call them 'black' is rather stretching it). However, often what is meant by this name when used elsewhere is Nigella Seed (Spices).

Black Mustard Seed (Spices) = Brassica nigra. This is hard to find, having been largely replaced by brown mustard because that is easier to harvest mechanically.

Black Pepper (Spices) = Piper nigrum.

Black Salt (Spices) = a form of salt with impurities, much used in Indian cooking.

'BLADE' MACE is the unground Mace (Spices), which is the aril or seed covering of the nutmeg nut.

BLUE GIANT HYSSOP = ANISE HYSSOP.

BOCKSCHORNKLEE (German) = Fenugreek (Spices).

BOG MYRTLE = SWEET GALE.

BOIS DE SANTAL (French) = SANDALWOOD.

Boswellia sacra = Frankincense Gum (Sweet Scents).

BOUQUET GARNI is traditionally a garland of fresh herbs: 1 sprig of thyme, 3 sprigs of parsley, and one bay leaf. It may also be made of dried herbs: equal portions of the three herbs, tied in a square of cheesecloth.

Brassica juncea = BROWN MUSTARD SEED

Brassica nigra = Black Mustard Seed (Spices).

BRITISH MYRRH = SWEET CICELY.

BROWN CARDAMON = Cardamom, Black (Spices)

BROWN MUSTARD SEED = Brassica juncea. [we do not at present carry this].

BUAH PELEGA (Malaysia) = Cardamon, Green (Spices).

BUGLOSSE (French) = Alkanet (Spices).

BUNGA LAWANG (Indonesia, Malaysia) = Star Anise (Spices).

BUNGA PALA (Malaysia) = Mace (Spices).

BİBERİYE (Turkish) = Rosemary (Spices).

BYLICA (Polish) = MUGWORT
