" ... Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven ..."
In His prayer to His Father,
Christ reveals the mystery of the Trinity.
Christ takes on our human form to really be one with us in all things but sin. This is the only way that I can relate to Him at my deepest human level. It is the only way Jesus can touch me and show me that He truly understands what I am experiencing in my life.
In the evolving process of taking me from my human weakness to mystical Love, the Trinity transforms me to Divine Love. The Trinity does this: on my terms, that is in human ways; over the centuries in an eternal now; by covenant relationships of love as with Moses; when a commitment is asked for as with Abraham; and when a yes response is forth coming as with Mary.
Jesus Christ came to earth and showed me how to live. He showed me that there is no suffering that has not been His. In other words, there is no suffering that will be mine that he has not suffered. More than documenting His life in Scripture, Christ actually lives His life with me in the here and now. I always have scripture to contemplate and Christ to love.
The driving force of Jesus' life is to do the will of His Father. This, to me, is Christ's real passion. The Passion of His Death is my transformation to mystical love. I come to contemplate the mysteries from the Last Supper to Easter as one transforming contemplative moment. In my life, I live this moment over and over again until I am in mystical union.
The Passion that is at the heart of my soul is Christ's passion. As I contemplate His passion, I understand His passion to be the will of His Father. As I contemplate His Father's will my insight is that this will is the Spirit. The Spirit of Love and of mystical union is my Divine Father's will. God the Father is willing me to the Spirit of Love.
The very Spirit that is Jesus' and His Father's is living in me. As in John 8:38 "... rivers of living water will flow from within him". Yes, from within me, the Spirit lives and breathes and has its being to flow to others from our covenant union.
As Christ was sent by the Father, He also sends me. In the sending, is the very Spirit of Christ that inflames me with mystical Love. In John's Gospel these words are written for me in 2000. The Word becomes Spirit of my very existence. I must take up my cross, my passion, daily and follow Him as a new creation to give Love to my brothers and sisters. I will be doing my Father's will to live in His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
